Job Summary

Respiratory Therapist Registered, RT PEDS, Milwaukee. The position provides pediatric respiratory care across intensive care and neonatal intensive care settings, with responsibilities including ventilator management, airway support, respiratory treatments, intubations, and extubations. The assignment is scheduled for 12-hour night shifts and may include rotation to additional acute care areas.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Weekend rotation occurs every other weekend, with occasional rotation every third weekend. Holiday scheduling may be required.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Wisconsin respiratory therapist license
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist credential
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Associate degree or respiratory therapy certificate
  • Three to five years of pediatric critical care or neonatal intensive care experience
  • Ability to function in pediatric intensive care and Level IV neonatal intensive care settings
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree
  • Experience with electronic clinical documentation
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information:
  • Primary clinical assignments include pediatric intensive care and neonatal intensive care, with potential rotation to acute medical-surgical units and emergency and trauma care.
  • Respiratory care responsibilities include ventilator management, intubations, extubations, suctioning, respiratory treatments, and management of invasive and noninvasive ventilation.
  • Experience with Servo ventilators, LTV, Astral, Trilogy, oscillators, tracheostomy patients, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP), RAM cannula, NAVA ventilation, positive expiratory pressure (PEP), and inhaled nitric oxide is required.
  • Influenza vaccination is required without exemptions.
  • The assignment is scheduled for 13 weeks, with a start date of 11/23/2026.
