Job Summary

Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist Location not specified. The Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist supports cardiac catheterization procedures by preparing procedure rooms, operating specialized imaging and monitoring equipment, documenting patient and hemodynamic information, and maintaining aseptic technique. The role collaborates with the procedure team to promote patient safety, efficient workflow, radiation safety, and quality care.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited radiology technology program, an associate degree in a healthcare-related field, or an acceptable equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • State licensure required based on modality.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree.
  • 01 year of experience in an acute care setting.
  • One of the following preferred credentials: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) through CCI; Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) through CCI; Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI; Radiography (R) through ARRT; Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) through ARRT; Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) through ARRT; Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) through ARRT; Abdomen (AB) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS; Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS; Adult Echocardiography (AE) Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS; or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through ARDMS.
• Additional Information:
  • Prepares procedure rooms, equipment, supplies, and patient positioning for cardiac catheterization procedures.
  • Operates and develops proficiency with fluoroscopy, digital image acquisition, intravascular ultrasound, intracardiac echocardiography, contrast injectors, hemodynamic systems, intra-aortic balloon pumps, rotational atherectomy, thrombectomy, and left ventricular assist devices.
  • Documents patient information, procedure details, hemodynamic measurements, and electrocardiogram recognition accurately.
  • Maintains aseptic technique and follows infection control, patient privacy, safety, and communication standards.
  • Supports physicians and the procedure team during sterile procedures and assists with patient transport as appropriate.
  • Serves as the radiation safety representative during X-ray use and reports equipment concerns through established processes.
  • Participates in room checks, supply stocking, quality control activities, competency development, and process improvement initiatives.
