Description
Job Summary
Occupational Therapist, Inpatient. The occupational therapist plans, implements, and evaluates patient care programs designed to help patients regain physical and social stability and relearn daily living activities. The role develops individualized treatment plans, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates occupational therapy with other therapeutic activities.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shift, 5 days per week at 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy; New Mexico occupational therapist licensure; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Additional Information:
- Evaluate patients abilities, limitations, progress, and rehabilitative needs.
- Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans.
- Assist patients with activities designed to improve strength, dexterity, coordination, visual acuity, decision-making, memory, sequencing, and perceptual skills.
- Design or develop adaptive equipment and teach patients how to use equipment for communication and environmental control.
- Coordinate care with other therapeutic activities according to patient needs, capabilities, interests, and treatment goals.
- Participate in patient care conferences, consultations, educational programs, and interdisciplinary rounds.
- Maintain patient progress records, care plans, and related documentation.
