Job Summary

Speech-Language Pathologist Outpatient provides speech-language pathology services across inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation settings. The role supports patients with stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injuries, cardiac rehabilitation needs, orthopedic conditions, and other physical disabilities. Responsibilities include assessing and treating swallowing, cognition, and communication needs within a collaborative rehabilitation environment.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shifts are 8 hours, with start times varying around 6:30 a.m.; minimum 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Valid professional licensure required for submission
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience
  • Experience with orthopedic, neurological, and cardiac rehabilitation patients
  • Ability to perform bedside swallow evaluations and cognitive assessments
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • 35 years of professional experience
  • Experience with modified barium swallow studies
  • Intensive care unit experience
  • Experience in outpatient or home health settings
  • Experience treating patients with physical disabilities
  • Spanish-language proficiency
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information:
  • Weekend coverage is scheduled every other weekend, with two weekend days required during a four-week schedule.
  • Holiday coverage may be assigned based on operational needs.
  • Patient populations may include spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injury, stroke, cardiac rehabilitation, orthopedic conditions, and other rehabilitation diagnoses.
  • Orientation includes one day of general orientation followed by two to three days of unit-specific orientation.
  • Pediatric experience is not required for the assignment.
