Location: Corpus Christi, TX
General Information
Join a dynamic team within the Operating Room Department where we focus on providing high-quality cardiovascular surgical care. Our team operates with a variety of staff depending on the schedule and case volume, including:
- CVOR Surgeons
- Registered Nurses (RN)
- Certified Surgical Technologists (CVOR Scrub Techs)
- Anesthesia Providers
- Perfusionists
- Surgical Assistants
Patient Care
We provide 1:1 patient care in the operating room, utilizing advanced cardiovascular surgical instrumentation and equipment.
Typical Procedures Performed
- Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)
- Valve Repair and Replacement
- TAVR Procedures
- Aortic Aneurysm Repairs
- Vascular Surgical Procedures
- Open Heart Surgery
Qualifications
Skill Set Most Recruited For: Experienced CVOR Certified Surgical Technologists with open-heart surgery experience.
Must Have:
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
- CVOR/Open Heart Surgery scrub experience
- Experience with cardiac and vascular surgical procedures
- Ability to take call and respond within the required timeframe
Dress Code
Scrub color and attire are provided by the facility.
Unit Guidelines/Policies
Staff must:
- Participate in scheduled call rotation
- Maintain competencies for cardiovascular surgical procedures
- Work independently in a high-acuity CVOR setting
Schedule and On-Call Requirements
Regular Schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
On-Call Requirements:
- Some Thursday call coverage required
- Monthly call rotation of approximately 10-12 call days
- Weekend call rotated among team members
- Must be able to report within established callback response time
