Position Overview

This position is for an experienced Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, providing critical care to patients in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 39
• Patient Ratios: 4:1 (surge bed assigned to each section)
• Unit Staffing: Free lead, unit clerk, sitters for behavioral health, paramedics, EMTs, LPNs
• Type of Equipment: Rapid Infuser, Glidescope
• Documentation System: Meditech EDM
• Scheduling Requirements: Every other weekend
• Patient Experience Focus: Team-based care and personal attention to patients

Hiring Criteria

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

• Required Skills: Experience with critical care medications, sedation, Emergency Severity Index (ESI), and emergency codes
• Advanced Skills: Experience with STEMI, Stroke, and Sepsis; preferred experience with Trauma

Procedures Performed in the Unit

• Intubation
• Chest tube insertion
• Splinting

Certification Requirements

Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and CPI.

Dress Code

Required uniform is charcoal grey scrubs.
