Unit Information

Join a dynamic healthcare team in a Progressive Care Unit focused on providing high-quality patient care. Our unit is structured to handle a variety of complex medical cases with an emphasis on stroke management, cardiac drips, and supportive care for patients on continuous BiPAP therapy.

General Information

• Number of Beds: 25
• Staffing: 54 FTEs including RNs and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
• Day Shift: 1 Charge RN, 6 Staff RNs, 3 PCTs
• Night Shift: 1 Charge RN, 6 Staff RNs, 3 PCTs
• Patient Ratios: 4:1 or 5:1 during staffing shortages
• Equipment Used: BiPAP, restraints, Airvo, bedside monitoring, telemetry
• Electronic Medical Record: Meditech

Qualifications

• Required Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIH) Certification
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preceptor experience
  • Charge nurse experience

Typical Responsibilities

• Management of stroke patients and cardiac drips
• Support for patients on continuous BiPAP
• Care for post-procedural patients
• Conducting emergent thoracentesis procedures
• Tele-monitoring of patients
