General Information
Unit Name: Telemetry
Location: Bowling Green, KY
Cost Center: 631
Number of Beds: 36
Patient Ratios: 4:1 with cath recovery; up to 6:1 maximum ratio, potentially stretched to 7:1 in certain instances.
Unit Staffing: Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) available on day and night shifts, and Unit Clerks on day shift.
Type of Equipment: Remote Telemetry monitors, Alaris pumps.
Documentation System: Meditech
Scheduling Requirements: Every other weekend.
Floating Policy: Agency staff float first. Potential to float to Ortho/Med-Surg.
Patient Experience Requirements: Strive for a 75% patient satisfaction rate.
Certifications Required: BLS
Position Summary
The Telemetry Registered Nurse will provide high-quality care to patients requiring telemetry monitoring. The RN will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Requested Skill Set
- Must Have: Telemetry experience.
- Advanced Skills Needed: Knowledge of chest tubes, Dysthymia training.
Procedures Performed on Unit
- Chest tube insertions
- Bedside Paracentesis
- Thoracentesis
Required Certifications
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIH
Dress Code
Any scrubs except camouflage are required.
