Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Neuro Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong nursing skills, effective time management, and critical thinking abilities. This role will involve providing high-quality care to patients in a neuro stepdown unit.

Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds: 30 total (22 Acute Care, 8 Stepdown)
• Patient Ratios: 6:1 on Acute Care, 4:1 on Neuro Stepdown
• Staffing Structure: Includes 1 RN Charge Nurse, 1-2 Techs, and a Unit Secretary
• Type of Equipment: Vital signs machines, high flow oxygen, chest tubes, suction, various drips for Acute Care; Vapotherm, Bipap, Trachs, titrating cardiac drips for Neuro Stepdown
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: Flexible scheduling includes weekend shifts
• Floating Policy: Experienced nurses may float after orientation
• Patient Experience Expectations: Bedside shift report, personal connection, and participation in daily huddles

Qualifications

• Required Skills: Strong nursing skills in Acute Care and Neuro Stepdown settings, with prior experience in stepdown nursing preferred.
• Advanced Skills: Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Common Procedures: Lumbar puncture and chest tube placement are frequently performed.
• Certifications Needed: Current BLS and ACLS certification required.

Dress Code

• Uniform colors permitted include black, various shades of blue or grey, with any color scrubs allowed on Fridays.
