Unit Information
Join our dynamic Surgical Trauma unit, which consists of 25 beds and a dedicated team of 44 full-time equivalents (FTEs) and 57 total staff members. Our unit offers a supportive environment where teamwork is emphasized and patient care is prioritized.
Shift Details
- Night Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM
Patient Care Overview
Our unit provides care for patients requiring acute surgical intervention and postoperative care, including:
- Trauma Surgery
- Bariatric Surgery
- Vascular Surgery
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- General Surgery
- Urological Surgery
- Orthopedic Surgery
- Neuro / Spine Surgery
- GI Bleed / Endoscopy
- Pulmonary Embolus
- Patients with complex neurological diagnoses
- Chest Pain and Heart Failure
- Sepsis and Alcohol Withdrawal
- Post-cardiac catheterization procedures
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Strong customer service skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Trauma/Orthopedic nursing
- Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical records

- Regular vital signs every 4 hours
- Telemetry monitoring for patients
- Comprehensive patient assessments every 4 hours
