Job Summary

The L&D Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients during labor and delivery. This role requires strong clinical skills and the ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced environment.

Position Details

• Unit Type: L&D (Labor and Delivery)
• Shift Schedule: Days, every third weekend, and holidays as needed
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Qualifications

• Years of Experience: 2 years required
• Required Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Unit Information

• Department: LDRP
• Bed Capacity: 4 L&D beds and 7 postpartum beds
• Labor Ratios: 1:1-2, Postpartum: 1:2-3
• Common Treatments: Magnesium, Oxytocin, Lactated Ringer's, Zofran, Prenatal vitamins, Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, Percocet, Toradol
• Equipment Utilized:
  • Neonatal vent CPAP
  • Bipap
  • High flow oxygen
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring System: OB Trace Vue

Orientation and Support

• Orientation: 3 shifts of unit/department specific orientation provided
• Scrubs: Provided

Additional Notes

This position operates within a rural healthcare environment, with a significant distance from a NICU. Successful candidates will exhibit strong teamwork, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently. The surgical team manages C-section procedures while the L&D team circulates for neonatal care.
