Description
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our team in the Cardiac ICU. The ideal candidate will have experience with fresh open-heart patients, as well as mixed ICU patients, and be prepared to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
Shift Details
- Shift: 12-hour Night Shifts
- Length: 36 hours per week
- Typical Hours: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: May float to telemetry or med-surg units
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit
- Number of Beds: 30 beds
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 to 1:2 (majority of time 1:2)
- Charge Nurse: Yes, Charge Nurse does not take patient assignment
- Nurse Aides: No
Technical Details
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner
- Telemetry Monitoring: GE Monitors
- Ventilator Support: Yes
- In-House Medical Staff: Hospitalist available 24/7
- Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7
- Pharmacy Services: Available 24/7
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an ICU setting with recent experience in caring for fresh open-heart patients and mixed ICU patients
- Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Preferred Certifications: PALS
- Testing Required: Candidates must successfully complete a proctored Dysrhythmia Test onsite on day one (pass/fail)
Orientation
One day of unit-specific orientation will be provided.
Additional Information
Schedules are made approximately six weeks in advance with a self-scheduling option, pending manager review. Flexibility and teamwork are essential for success in this role.
