Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the PCU/Med Surg/Oncology unit. This role will involve the care of adult oncology and trauma patients in a stepdown environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the PCU/Oncology unit.
• Perform hourly rounding and participate in bedside shift reports to enhance patient experience.
• Administer medications and manage complex care including titration of drips such as Insulin and Cardizem.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nursing assistants, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in patient education and support throughout their treatment journey.
• Manage and operate respiratory equipment, including high-flow oxygen systems.

Work Schedule

• Full-time position with 12-hour night shifts.
• Self-scheduling available, with an emphasis on balancing unit needs.
• Every other weekend is required.

Unit Information

The unit provides care for adult patients, including those undergoing chemotherapy. The team values respect and compassion while treating a diverse patient population.

Experience Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
• Oncology experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
• ONS/ONCC certification is preferred but not required.

Patient Ratios

The patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:4 to 1:5 during both day and night shifts.

Orientation

New hires will undergo two days of unit orientation to ensure a smooth transition into the team.

Location

This position is available in the healthcare facilities located in a city within the state.
