Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse with experience in Labor and Delivery to join our team. This position focuses on providing quality care to mothers and newborns in a fast-paced birthing center environment.

Job Details

• Unit: Birthing Center - Mother Baby
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Day shifts on Saturday and Sunday

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients, including attending deliveries independently.
• Circulate during cesarean sections and assist with newborn transitions.
• Monitor and titrate medications such as Magnesium, Pitocin, and Insulin as needed.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in staff education and orientation, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Current BLS Certification and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
• Experience with intermediate or advanced fetal heart monitoring is preferred.
• Comfort in assisting with high-risk deliveries and managing diverse patient needs.
• Must be able to function in both Labor & Delivery and Postpartum units.

• L&D Beds: 13
• OR Suites for C-Sections: 2
• Triage Beds: 2
• Postpartum Beds: 14
• Average Births: 170-190 births per month
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 in Labor & Delivery and 1:3-4 for couplets

Additional Information

Orientation for this position includes an 8-hour day for compliance training, an 8-hour EPIC class, and 2-3 shifts of unit-specific orientation. Scrubs will be provided, and a locker will be available for personal belongings.
