Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cath Lab Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role is crucial in providing high-quality care to patients undergoing various cardiac procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform critical patient assessments and manage complex cardiac procedures.
• Administer vasoactive and sedation medications according to established protocols.
• Utilize sterile techniques and facilitate safe patient care during procedures.
• Assist with advanced cardiac devices, including IABP, Impella, Rotoblator, and Penumbra.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Patient Population

Patients may include those with coronary artery disease, STEMI, cardiogenic shock, complex total occlusions, valvular disease, and other critical conditions requiring cardiac intervention.

Qualifications

Required Certifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Required Education:

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.

Preferred Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Cath Lab settings, particularly with coronary, structural heart, complex PCI, and peripheral procedures.
• Strong critical care skills and experience in arrhythmia recognition and treatment.

Unit Details

Our Cath Lab features 2 cath labs and 2 hybrid peripheral/OR suites. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1, ensuring focused care for each patient.

Scheduling and Orientation

New hires will undergo a comprehensive 4-day orientation, working 10-hour shifts. Expect a weekend rotation of every 4 weekends and the possibility of holiday shifts. Scheduling requests must be approved by the manager.

• No floating required; the Cath Lab operates as a separate department.
