Unit Information

Join our Pediatric Step-Down Unit, which features:

• 36 all-private patient rooms with accommodations for parents.
• A collaborative team consisting of 60 staff members.
• Mixed care for step-down patients with a primary focus on spinal fusions, chest tubes, and high-flow oxygen management.
• Patient ratios of 1:3 for step-down patients and 1:4 for basic care patients.
• Equipped with Philips Monitors.
• EMR system: Meditech.

Job Description

The Pediatric Registered Nurse will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment. The role includes performing various procedures, supporting patient needs, and collaborating with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

• A minimum of 1 year of current Pediatric RN experience.
• BLS & NRP certifications.
• Comfort with high-flow oxygen, spinal fusions, and chest tubes.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience with Meditech EMR.

Typical Procedures

The following procedures are commonly performed on the unit:

• NGTs (Nasogastric Tubes)
• Foleys
• TP Tubes
• PIVs (Peripheral Intravenous Catheters)
• Phlebotomy procedures.
• Occasional lumbar punctures (LPs).

Flexibility in scheduling is a priority. The hiring management communicates with travelers regarding their schedule requests alongside full-time employees, ensuring that travelers are not merely filling gaps, but are accommodated within a well-organized scheduling system.

Additional Information

• On-site parking is available at no charge, with convenient access to the unit.
• New travelers will be required to work night shifts during their first contract.
• Prior travel nursing experience is preferred.
• We accept a variety of patient cases except for trauma and burns.
