Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a dynamic float pool opportunity in a MedSurg setting. This position involves providing comprehensive patient care across various units, including medical oncology, surgical units, and medical units. The role emphasizes teamwork and total patient care with no Patient Care Assistants (PCAs) assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in a 128-bed MedSurg environment.
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Monitor patient health conditions and manage care effectively.
• Participate in unit orientation and training programs.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience in a large hospital setting preferred.
• Knowledge of medical and surgical care practices.
• Ability to float between Med/Onc, surgical, and medical units as needed.

Shift & Scheduling

• Shifts are assigned based on the needs of the unit.
• Weekend work is required every other weekend.
• No holiday or on-call requirements.
• Standard orientation includes three shifts specific to the unit.

Work Environment

The registered nurse will work in a supportive environment with a focus on total patient care. Respiratory therapy assistance is readily available, and remote tele monitoring is utilized.
