Unit Information: Heart & Vascular

Location: Arlington, TX

• Number of Beds: 31
• Number of Staff: 63
• Staffing Structure:
  • Day Shift - 1 charge nurse, 8 staff nurses, 2 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), 1 secretary
  • Night Shift - 1 charge nurse, 8 staff nurses, 2 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
• Patient Ratios: 1:4
• Type of Equipment: Various monitoring and treatment devices

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough nursing assessments every 12 hours or as ordered.
• Monitor vital signs every 4 hours unless otherwise directed.
• Administer appropriate cardiac care and medication per physician orders.
• Perform and interpret EKGs, pacemaker interrogations, and arterial sheath removals.
• Maintain cardiac drips and manage post-catheterization care.

Qualifications

• Required: Current ACLS certification.
• Preferred: Experience in critical care, specifically with post-catheterization management.

Dress Code

Scrubs should be in royal blue. Long sleeve, no-print under shirts in white, blue, or red are acceptable. Only approved uniform jackets may be worn.
