ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional care in a dynamic Intensive Care Unit setting. The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced clinical skills and a commitment to patient advocacy in a critical care environment.

Position Details

• Unit Type: ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Years of Experience Required: 2 years
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Common Diagnoses: Abd Pain, Chest Pain, Fever, Cough, Dyspnea, Headache, Injury, Extremity Pain, Insulin infusions

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Titrate medications, including vasopressors and sedatives, as necessary.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including hospitalists and intensivists, to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
• Monitor patient status and vital signs, ensuring timely intervention when necessary.
• Assist in procedures and ensure the use of appropriate equipment such as ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP.
• Participate in unit assignments and activities, including floating to other units as needed.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a critical care setting.

Schedule & Requirements

• Dayshift with a commitment to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule.
• Availability to float to other acuity levels as needed, including PCU/Stepdown and MS-Tele.
• Mandatory attendance for the full week of orientation.
• Dress Code: Navy Blue scrubs.
