Job Overview

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Emergency Room Nurse to join a dynamic emergency department team. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment and providing high-quality patient care to a diverse population.

Job Details

• Unit: Emergency Room
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
• Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS, PALS
• Patient Volume: Approximately 250 visits per day
• Patient Ratios: 2:1/4:1
• Common Diagnoses: STEMI, Cardiac, Sepsis, Alcohol Withdrawal, Stroke, DKA, and various others

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a busy emergency setting.
• Coordinate with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient management.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions effectively.
• Participate in all aspects of patient care, including treatment and disposition planning.
• Support the charge nurse and collaborate with medical staff, including physicians and mid-level providers.

Additional Information

• Orientation: 1 day of floor-specific orientation available.
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend required; includes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
• Holiday Requirements: Must be willing to work during holidays as part of the permanent staff rotation.
• Scrub Colors: RN - Blue, Techs - Green
• Emergency Room Features: 24 patient beds, private room availability for behavior concerns.
• Emergency Services Support: RT, Pharmacy, and Phlebotomists available 24/7.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ER nursing experience; trauma experience preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and critical thinking skills.
