Description
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated healthcare team. This position will involve working in a dynamic and fast-paced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where you will provide high-quality care to critically ill patients.
Shift Details
- Shift Type: Nights
- Shift Length: 12 hours
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun)
- Holidays: Required
- Orientation: Available in December
Unit Information
- Unit Type: ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
- Number of Beds: Licensed for 44 beds; currently using 36
- Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2
- EMR System: Cerner Power Chart
- Charge Nurse: Yes, does not take patient assignments
- Nurse Aides: Not available; unit tech handles secretary and equipment duties
- Monitor Tech: Available; no centralized monitoring
Patient Care Information
- Common Diagnoses: Cardiac conditions, PCI, Open Heart surgeries, Sepsis, Alcohol-related issues, Stroke, CABG, stents, balloon pumps, craniotomies
- Type of Patients: Includes PACU patients directly admitted to ICU
- Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years in ICU; 3 years preferred unless from a large institution
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification
- NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale)
- CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) preferred

- Patient Satisfaction: Must exhibit compassion and skilled care
- Floating: Potential to float to Telemetry and Emergency Room for ICU Holds
- Onboarding: Includes one day of orientation on the ICU and one shift on the Tele/Stepdown unit
- Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7
- Pharmacy: Available 24/7
- IV Team: Not available
- Drips Managed: Includes Vasopressors, Nitro, Heparin, and others; Ventilation management involved
