Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for a position within the MedSurg/Telemetry Float Pool. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care in a dynamic environment, ensuring high standards of patient safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in the MedSurg/Telemetry units, interpreting telemetry and cardiac rhythms.
• Float between different units as needed, demonstrating versatility and adaptability.
• Work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals, including physicians and charge nurses.
• Administer medications and monitor patient progress, making necessary adjustments to care plans.
• Participate in patient education and health promotion activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a relevant setting.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS required.
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips; basic arrhythmia course certification preferred.

Work Schedule

This is a night shift position with a commitment to every other weekend. Staff members are also expected to rotate through holiday schedules.

• Unit Type: Telemetry
• Common Diagnoses: ESRD, Diabetes Mellitus, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Alcohol Use Disorder
• Patient-to-nurse ratios may vary based on staffing needs.

• Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy available 24/7
• Full orientation provided for Telemetry; brief orientation for MedSurg.
