Position Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Stepdown Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong acute care nursing skills and experience in stepdown care, demonstrating exceptional critical thinking abilities along with effective time management skills.

Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds: 30 (22 Acute Care, 8 Stepdown)
• Patient Ratios: 6:1 on Acute Care, 4:1 on Neuro Stepdown
• Staffing: 1 RN Charge oversees all of 10 tower, supported by 1-2 Techs and a unit secretary
• Type of Equipment:
  • Acute Care: Vital sign machines, high flow oxygen, chest tubes, suction devices, and various drips, particularly for stroke care.
  • Neuro Stepdown: Vapotherm, Bipap, Trachs, and titrating cardiac drips.
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: Weekend shifts are required and scheduling is subject to change.
• Floating Policy: Experienced nurses may float after orientation.
• Patient Experience Requirements: Bedside shift report, personal connection with patients, and daily huddles.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a relevant nursing role
• Skills Needed: Strong critical thinking skills and solid time management abilities.
• Preferred Experience: Previous stepdown nursing experience is desirable.

Dress Code

The required uniform includes black scrubs or any shade of blue, grey, or any color scrubs on Fridays.
