Description
Position Overview
The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care in a medical-surgical/telemetry unit, specializing in neuro telemetry. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in managing patients with cerebrovascular accidents (CVA), transient ischemic attacks (TIA), subdurals, and seizure disorders. Additionally, the nurse will support surgical oncology recovery, specifically post-operative care without chemotherapy administration.
Schedule Details
- Shift: 12 Hours, Days
- Start Time: 07:00
- Schedule: Assigned every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday)
- Holiday Requirement: Work on designated holidays as assigned
Contract Length
The contract will be for a duration of 8 weeks.
Floating Requirement
Ability to float to similar units as necessary.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant nursing specialty
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Experience with patients undergoing post-operative recovery from surgical procedures such as Whipple surgeries, esophagectomies, colon resections, and vascular surgeries with peripheral angiograms and lower extremity wounds.
- Current Registered Nurse license in Illinois
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required
- Experience with Epic electronic medical records system
- Temporary licenses are accepted if the candidate is in the process of obtaining a permanent license, with proof of submission required.
Experience Requirement
New graduates will not be considered for this position. Candidates must have demonstrated professional experience in the specified areas of neuro telemetry and surgical recovery.
