Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our team. This position involves providing high-quality care to patients in the emergency room, ensuring swift assessment and treatment of a wide variety of acute medical conditions.

Job Details

• Unit Type: Emergency Room (ER)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Years of Experience Required: 2 years
• Shift: Nights
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Yes, unless time off is requested

Floating Information

Primary location will be in a designated facility, but the candidate may be required to float to other facilities within the region as needed. Floating to other facilities will include additional compensation.

Patient Care Responsibilities

• Provide excellent nursing care to patients of all ages with varying diagnoses.
• Assess and triage patients effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Perform necessary medical procedures and interventions in accordance with protocols.
• Maintain clear and accurate patient records using the electronic medical record system (EMR).

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
• Charge Nurse responsibilities may be assigned to experienced candidates.
• Ability to work efficiently without nurse aides or paramedics; only ED Techs will assist.

Work Environment

The emergency room consists of 27 beds and trauma bays, with no designated psych or seclusion rooms. The unit typically sees 84-118 patients per day, maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 4:1.

• Orientation: Floor specific orientation will be provided.
• Security and Support: Security and patient sitters are available for 1:1 care as needed.
• Respiratory Therapy: Staffed 24/7 for any required ventilatory support.
• Pharmacy: Available 24/7 for medication management.
