Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the MedSurg/Ortho unit. This position requires a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and a collaborative spirit to work effectively within a dedicated healthcare team.
Position Details
- Unit: NE MedSurg/Ortho
- Unit Type: Medical Surgical
- Number of Beds: 55
- Patient Ratios: 5 to 1
- EMR System: Cerner
- Nurse Aides: 1 - 3 PCT based on census
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holidays: Participation in permanent staff holiday rotation
- Scrub Color: Navy
- Patient Conditions: MedSurg, Ortho
- Orientation: 1 shift on each unit (total of 2 orientation shifts)
Shift Details
- Shift Length: 12 hours
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Typical Shifts: 7a-7p
- Floating Requirement: Travelers will have a 'home base' unit but are required to float between MedSurg units
Qualifications
- Years of Experience: Minimum 5 years
- Required Certifications: BLS Certification; ONC certification for oncology nurses preferred
- Experience Requirements: Night shift requires 2 years of solid MedSurg experience; Day shift requires 2 years of experience

- Charge Nurse: Yes, charge nurse does not take patients
- IV Team: Available during the day for IV & PICC needs
- Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7
- Pharmacy: Available 24/7
- Hospitalist/Intensivist: Available in-house

Traveler friendly for sure. I was on the TCU and they have a strong sense of teamwork. Break nurses every shift who are super helpful.
Cons
What management can’t provide, I would say the floor staff makes up for. Cost of living is higher only for lodging, I’m from Alaska and everything else was about the same. If you have a place to stay it’s a perfect gig!!
