Description
Position Overview
The Speech Language Pathologist will provide comprehensive care within various settings, including inpatient hospitals, acute rehabilitation, and outpatient clinics. The role includes conducting swallowing bed evaluations and utilizing video fluoroscopic swallow studies as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and provide therapeutic services for patients in need of speech and language therapy.
- Conduct swallow evaluations and manage treatment plans based on individual patient needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care.
- Utilize video fluoroscopic swallow study technology when applicable to assess swallowing function.
- Be flexible to adjust patient loads and coverage areas as needed.
Qualifications
- Must possess a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
- New York State License is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Completion of a clinical fellowship year is required.
- Preferred experience in inpatient acute care settings, particularly within swallowing evaluations.
Work Schedule
This position requires an 8-hour workday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Weekend rotation may be assigned based on operational needs.
Location
Coverage will be provided within a 75-mile radius, including service across multiple locations in the Mohawk Valley area.
