Description

Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our team for a 13-week assignment. The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in the operating room and must be confident in handling emergency neurosurgery cases independently. This position involves a variety of surgical cases, including routine, urgent, and trauma procedures.

Schedule

Wednesday to Friday, 0630 - 1900
On-call requirements include:

Up to two 7-11s per month
Two 7p-7a shifts per month
Two 7a-7a weekend calls per month
One holiday on-call per year, typically 8 hours

Role Responsibilities

Provide care for patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Assist with a wide range of surgical cases, with a focus on craniotomies and spinal surgeries.
Collaborate with surgeons and other team members to ensure high-quality patient care.
Maintain comprehensive documentation using electronic medical records (EMR), specifically Epic.

Qualifications

Current Kansas RN license required.
BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
Extensive experience in the operating room, specifically in neurosurgery.
Ability to work independently and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
