Job Details
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced PCU Nursing Float professional to join our team. This position requires flexibility and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Stepdown
- Number of Beds: 32
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Electronic Medical Record: EPIC
- Nurse Aide Support: Yes; CNA ratio 1:8-12
- Tele Monitoring: Yes, with remote tech support
- Floating: May float to MS/Tele and PCU floors
- Common Diagnoses: CVA/TIA, STEMI/NSTEMI, chest pain rule out MI, ACS, CHF, renal failure, respiratory distress, DKA/HHNK, PE/DVT, afib, and pre/post cardiac procedures.
Shift Information
- Shift Length: 12 hours
- Shift Timing: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Weekend Requirement: Based on unit needs
- Holiday Requirement: Yes, must be flexible
Qualifications
- Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years
- Required Certifications:
- ACLS (AHA)
- BLS (AHA)
- NIHSS
- License: WA or Compact License required
Support Services
- Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7 in-house
- Pharmacy: Open 24/7 in-house
- IV Team: Available from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM
- Rapid Response Team: Registered Nurse available 24/7

This is a busy unit with a high patient turnover rate. We pride ourselves on having a cohesive team environment and welcome travelers as integral members of our team. Floor-specific orientation will be provided, including 12 hours of policy and procedure overview, as well as additional training on EPIC as needed.
