Unit Overview

• Number of Beds: 30 (22 Acute Care, 8 Stepdown)
• Patient Ratios: 6:1 on Acute Care, 4:1 on Neuro Stepdown
• Unit Staffing: 1 RN Charge overseeing all of 10 tower, 1-2 Techs, and a unit secretary
• Type of Equipment:
  • Acute Care: Vital sign machines, high flow oxygen, chest tubes, suction, various drips, and stroke-related equipment
  • Neuro Stepdown: Vapotherm, Bipap, Trachs, and titrating cardiac drips
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: Weekend shifts are required
• Floating Policy: Experienced nurses can float after orientation
• Patient Experience Requirements: Bedside shift report, personal connection, daily huddle

Qualifications

• Must Have: Strong nursing skills in Acute Care, time management skills, and Neuro Stepdown experience
• Advanced Skills Required: Strong critical thinking abilities
• Common Procedures: Lumbar puncture and chest tube placement
• Certifications Required: BLS and ACLS

Dress Code

Uniforms in black, any shade of blue or grey are acceptable. Any color scrubs may be worn on Fridays.
