Emergency Room Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Room Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position requires a strong clinical background and the ability to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care in the Emergency Room, managing a diverse range of medical emergencies.
• Assess and prioritize patient needs, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.
• Administer medications and therapies as per protocols and physician orders.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families regarding health conditions and post-discharge care.
• Participate in the orientation and training of new staff as required.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records.

Shifts & Scheduling

• 12-hour night shifts.
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week with a requirement for 6-9 weekend shifts every 6 weeks.
• Flexibility to float between Emergency Rooms within a 60-mile radius as needed.
• Week of orientation is mandatory, with some modules potentially being completed remotely.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Room setting.
• Required Certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS, PALS, TNCC.

Unit Information

• Average of 30 patients treated daily.
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 based on acuity levels.
• Support staff includes nursing technicians assisting with administrative tasks and triage.
• 24/7 access to Respiratory Therapy for ABG, breathing treatments, and EKGs.
• RNs are required to interpret their own telemetry strips.
• Point-of-care lab testing conducted by trained staff.
