We are seeking a skilled CVOR Tech to join our Cardio OR team. This position provides an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on cardiovascular surgeries.

Unit Details

Unit Type: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
Number of Operating Rooms: 6 ORs (1 CVOR), 1 Hybrid room
Average Cases per Day: 20-30 (including 1-2 CV cases or up to 4 TAVR)
Common Cases: CABG, Aortic Valve, Mitral Valve, TAVR
Scrubbing Required: Yes, for techs; not required for RNs

Work Schedule

The standard shift is Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Flexibility for on-call duties is required, with on-call responsibility expected up to 50% of the time, including weekends.

Qualifications

Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience is required, including at least 1 year of open heart surgical experience.
Required Certifications:
- BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification (for RNs)

Additional Information

Available Resources: A charge nurse and specialty leads are available for support during shifts.
Hospital Provided: Scrubs are provided for all staff.
EMR System: Cerner

Pros

This place impressed me. The staff, charge nurses and resources are amazing here. Pysix, Cerner and Alaris pump with great range of supplies. The Dr's are helpful and great to work with . The acuity isn't level 1 stuff but good range of patients. Sepsis, DKAs, ODs, HF, etc.

Cons

Cost of living seemed high although I had an arrangement with Bestwestern in the area for fixed monthly rate.
