The Intensive Care Unit (IMCU) 6S provides exceptional care in a 24-bed unit with a dedicated staff of 38 professionals. The unit operates with an effective team structure, ensuring high standards in patient management and care.

Staffing and Ratios

• Number of Beds: 24
• Number of Staff: 38
• Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 Nurses, 2 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
• Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 Nurses, 2 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 RN, 1:12 PCT

Typical Hiring Profile

Essential Skills:

• Cardiac Experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Staff may be required to float within the IMCU department as needed.

Unit Guidelines and Policies

• Conduct Bedside Shift Report at each shift change
• Participate in Unit Huddles at 6:45 AM and 6:45 PM
• Attend MDR Rounds at 10:00 or 10:30 AM for Day Shift
• Adhere to Attendance and Tardiness policies

Weekends and Holidays

Staff are expected to work 4 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) within a 4-week period, along with alternating holiday shifts.
