Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipating and planning for patient care in the operating room. As a key member of the surgical team, the RN collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other personnel to deliver high-quality patient care in alignment with regulatory standards and hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the timely availability of supplies and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients' families regarding care and surgical processes.
• Update and maintain physician preference cards.
• Scrub and assist physicians during surgical procedures.
• Supervise personnel providing patient care in the operating room.

Qualifications

• Active ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the operating room, with strengths in Orthopedics, Neurology, Robotics, ENT, General Surgery, Urology, Vascular, and Gynecology.
• Experience with Cerner electronic medical records is required.
• CNOR certification is preferred.

Additional Information

• Floating between multiple locations within the region may be required.
• A background check including AHCA Fingerprinting is required prior to the start date.
