Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Shakopee, Minnesota
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:00
• 36 hours per week
• Up to every other weekend
• Accepts first-time travelers
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Unit / Clinical Setting

• Trauma Level 3 ED with telestroke/teleneurology support
• Onsite mental health assessment and referral part of the time, plus telemental health
• Sexual Assault Nurses perform SANE exams and Domestic Violence Exams
• 18% pediatric patients
• High volume mental health and ETOH
• Social worker, financial counselor, and pharmacist available part of the time

Special Procedures / Skills

• Moderate sedation
• Nitrous Oxide
• Level 1 MI’s
• Trauma Codes
• Medical alerts including cardiac arrest, overdose, respiratory distress, Code Stroke, and Code Sepsis
• Skills required: Telemetry, Nitrous Oxide Use

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Minnesota
• ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or ENPC
• TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

• Special equipment includes Nicom for noninvasive hemodynamic monitoring, Ranger Rapid Infuser/Fluid Warmer, Venue 40 for IV starts, Bladder Scanner, Life Pak Defib, Lucas, Dash 5000 cardiac monitors, and Airpal
