Description
Critical Care ED Pharmacist
Role Overview
- Travel/contract pharmacy role in Fort Worth, Texas.
- Onsite in the ED or ICU.
- Shift options include evenings, swing shift, and potentially day shifts if rounding experience is present.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Texas pharmacist license.
- 1 year of pharmacist experience.
- Pharmacist experience within the last year.
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
- BCCCP or BCEMP.
- Experience with Epic.
Preferred
- Available 7 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend Code Blues, including traumatic arrests, and provide necessary medications.
- Attend Rapid Sequence Intubations and provide necessary medications.
- Attend Code Strokes, review patient profiles, make treatment recommendations, and mix fibrinolytics if warranted.
- Attend Code Sepsis, review patient profiles, make antibiotic recommendations, and mix necessary medications.
- Provide comprehensive pharmacy services for STAT orders in the ED and ICU.
- Monitor the EPIC verification queue for STAT orders and orders requiring clinical intervention or iVents.
- Perform drug utilization reviews, monitor for drug interactions, support formulary integrity, participate in antibiotic stewardship, provide pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring, and evaluate potential adverse drug events.
- Serve as a clinical resource for hospital staff.
