RRT Nights

Overview

• Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
• Location: Columbus, Ohio
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Nights, 3 x 12-hour shifts (19:00 to 07:30), 36 hours per week
• Traveler Level: First-time travelers

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in Ohio, active and in hand at time of submission (pending not accepted)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist with 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• High school diploma or official high school transcripts (GED or high school equivalency acceptable)

Schedule and Work Expectations

• Weekends required
• May be required to float between campuses

Compliance and Health Requirements

• Background: 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start. Ohio BCI and FBI fingerprinting within 1 year of start. Pending fingerprint results may be allowed under a pending background attestation.
• Drug screen: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start. Candidates cannot start with a pending screen.
• Physical exam: Physician documentation within 1 year of start stating good health and freedom from contagious disease. An Aya form is acceptable.
• Tuberculosis: Negative PPD, QuantiFERON-Gold, or T-SPOT within 1 year of start, plus an annual TB questionnaire. If positive, a chest X-ray within 1 year of start or documentation of TB treatment is required.
• Vaccines and titers:

  • Tdap, given as an adult dose after age 11 or 12
  • MMR (measles, mumps, rubella): 2 vaccines or a positive titer
  • Hepatitis B: titer or 3-vaccine series (signed declination also acceptable)
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or a positive titer (shingles vaccine is not acceptable)
  • Flu: vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 to 3/31). Candidates who decline must wear a mask at all times. Contract candidates cannot receive the flu vaccine onsite.
• Respirator fit testing: Required annually for RRTs. Fit test must be valid for the full assignment. An onsite fit test is completed if needed, with the record due by the end of the first week.
• Competencies: Unit-specific competency exam required
• References: 2 professional references. At least 1 must come from a manager, director, or formal leader. No coworker references.
