Registered Nurse: MS/Tele

Location: Oak Ridge, Tennessee Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Night (3x12 hours), 19:00 to 07:30 Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Schedule and Staffing

• Auto offer with bi-weekly orientation
• Weekends: every other weekend, or 2 weekends per month
• Primary staffing ratios: 1:5 days and 1:6 nights
• The unit may use a team nursing model with greater ratios
• Float required

Holiday Time-Off Policy

Travelers requesting time off during any listed holiday or holiday week will not be accommodated. Travelers may address holiday time-off requests directly with the manager after arriving onsite, using the time-off form. Listed holidays include Valentine's Day, Local Spring Break, Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Local Fall Break, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Active RN license, verified through NURSYS within 30 days of start
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience (1 year), completed within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS issued by American Heart Association, required for all candidates
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), required for all RN candidates
• Certifications must be uploaded as the actual document. Screenshots and photos are not accepted.
• Certifications must not expire within 45 days of the assignment start date.
• Additional unit-specific certifications may apply. Check the unit description for requirements.
• Must pass EKG testing before the start date (applies to all Med-Surg nurses regardless of sub-specialty)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam within 12 months of start, scoring 80% or higher
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam (required for direct placements, not required for subcontractors)
• Competency exam (required for direct placements, not required for subcontractors)
• Color blind testing within 12 months prior to start (an Ishihara test from a clinic or an online test is accepted)
• Core Part I, II, and III competencies, each with a minimum 80% pass rate, updated annually
• Physical exam within 12 months of start, with a clear statement of fitness for duty signed by an MD, DO, NP, APRN, or PA (chiropractors not accepted)
• Negative TB test (QuantiFERON Gold or skin test) within 1 year of start. T-spot results are not accepted, and QuantiFERON Gold is strongly preferred.
• TB questionnaire
• Immunity documentation for MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer), Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer), and Hepatitis B (vaccine series of 3, titer, or declination)
• Drug screen within 45 days of start, including the required panel. Positive marijuana results disqualify the candidate.
• Flu vaccine or an approved religious or medical exemption on file by 9/30 for the 2026-27 season. Declinations are not accepted.
• Background check completed within 45 days of start, including a 7-year SSN trace and required searches. Instant statewide searches are not accepted.
• Alias name attestation required if any alias on the background check does not match the traveler's name
• Valid driver's license or state ID, in color and current
• Passport-style badge photo with a solid background, uploaded before start
• Proof of residence (utility bill, mortgage statement, or lease) matching the candidate's state RN license address, required if the address is more than 75 miles from the facility
• Onboarding attestation and job description signed before start
• Employment application showing 7 years of work history, with no unexplained gaps over 30 days, and listing active nursing license state, license number, and expiration date
• 2 supervisory references from employers within the past 3 years, completed within 3 years of start
• Unit-specific skills checklist completed within the last year, with a visible date stamp
