Description
CVICU Registered Nurse
- Location: Quincy, Illinois
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day, 3x12 hours (7:00 to 19:00)
- Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois, verified by primary source online verification
- 2 years of CVICU experience required (CVU or CVICU experience is acceptable)
- CVICU experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or RQI
- BLS issued by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or RQI
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification, required for all travelers and updated annually
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Local candidates accepted
Pre-Start Requirements
- Background: 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, SSN trace, county and national searches, national sex offender search, and education verification (diploma or transcript accepted). Annual SAM and HHS/OIG checks. Two forms of ID required.
- Testing: 10-panel drug test dated within 30 days of start, repeated annually (no rapid results). Medication/pharmacology competency exam with an 80% score or meeting the Angoff score. Unit-specific competency exam. Color blind test within 12 months. Core Parts I, II, and III and OSHA Mandatory, updated annually.
- Health: Physical exam within 30 days of start stating the traveler is in good health and clear to work without restrictions. TB screening (QuantiFERON Gold, T-SPOT, or 2-step PPD) within 90 days of start, with an annual TB questionnaire. Proof of immunity or vaccination for Rubeola (measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella. Tdap within 10 years. Annual flu vaccine or declination during flu season (October 1 to March 31). COVID vaccination, declination, or exemption documentation. N95 fit test within 12 months.
- History: 2 recent professional references. Employment application. Work history verification for the last 3 years. Skills checklist updated annually.
- Compliance: Facility onboarding documents and computer-based learning modules (about 4 hours) to complete before start.

Quincy is steeped in a rich history, revealed in its more than 3,600 buildings on the National Register of Historic Places.
