Job Summary
Operating Room (First Assistant) in the Specialty of ORFA This position involves providing intraoperative assistance during cardiac surgical procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), aortic valve replacement (AVR), and mitral valve (MV) repair or replacement. The role requires competence in assisting the surgical team with exposure, hemostasis, and closure, while ensuring patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes.

Job Details

• Responsibilities include applying the nursing process in all aspects of the nurse first assistant role, demonstrating knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, and establishing a safe peri-operative environment.
• Must demonstrate proficiency in taking Second Call, with advanced life support equipment knowledge required.
• High degree of hand/eye coordination and sustained mental attention necessary.
• Certifications: Driver's License/State ID, UHS Submission Packet, UHS Prior Employment Form, UHS Skills Checklist.
• Education: Relevant nursing or specialized training as applicable.
• Years of Experience: 1 year minimum.
• Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Start Date: 11/16/2026.
• End Date: 02/14/2027.
