Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse specializing in Open Heart procedures in Tomball, Texas. This role involves supporting cardiac and thoracic surgeries within a busy surgical unit. Job Details:

• Schedule: Day shift with 10 hours per day, minimum 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS certification; candidates without these skills will not be considered.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiovascular surgical procedures or open heart patient care is advantageous.
• Unit Information:
  • Location: Tomball, TX
  • Number of Beds: 10 operating room suites and 1 cystoscopy suite
  • Staffing: 8 full-time surgical technicians and 2 PRN technicians; 10 OR nurses and 2 PRN OR nurses
  • Equipment: Medical Electronic Health Record system MediTech
  • Typical procedures include coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG), mitral valve replacements, femoral bypass, thrombectomy, orthopedic, neurological/spinal, robotic surgeries, gynecological, urological, ENT, and podiatry cases.
• Personality Fit: Someone with a positive attitude, team-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional patient care.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Additional Information:
  • On-call coverage may be needed 1-2 nights per week and one weekend per month. The team is on-site for 12 hours daily during weekends, with potential coverage for emergency cases.
  • Possible floating to the outpatient surgery center across the street, though this is rare.
  • Attire: Scrubs in blue, provided by the facility.
  • Flexibility in shift coverage and team cooperation are key.
