Description
Job Summary
Operating Room Technician, Operating Room Open Heart, Richmond, VA. The position supports cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures in a cardiovascular operating room. Responsibilities include scrubbing complex cardiac cases, supporting procedures involving bypass and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, and participating in assigned call coverage.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shift, 8-hour shifts, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Call coverage may be assigned beginning at 3:00 PM, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday weekend call.
- Required Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in a hospital setting
- New Hampshire (NH) license or compact license required at submission
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Additional Information:
- Proficiency scrubbing cardiac cases requiring bypass
- Experience with mediastinal, thoracic, open thoracotomy, video-assisted thoracic surgery, and robotic-assisted procedures
- Experience supporting procedures involving extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and pericardial windows
- Familiarity with coronary artery bypass grafting, valve replacement, aortic dissection repair, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, lobectomy, wedge resection, and mediastinal lymph node biopsy procedures
- Hospital-provided scrubs are available
