Description
Job Summary:
Operating Room First Assist (ORFA) in Las Vegas, Nevada. This position involves supporting open heart surgeries with a focus on vein harvesting using the Maquet Hemopro 2 system. The role requires independence in vein procurement and adherence to unit policies, working primarily during daytime hours on a rotating schedule.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Candidates must have vein harvesting capabilities and be competent/independent in vein procurement with experience using the Maquet Hemopro 2 system. Certifications required include BLS (Basic Life Support) and CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with additional skills relevant to open heart procedures and surgical assistance will be considered first.
- Unit Information:
- Number of Beds: 3
- Number of Staff: 15
- Type of Staff: Day shift, Monday through Friday, with rotating on-call after hours and weekends.
- Patient Ratios: 1:1
- Equipment: CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) for open heart surgeries
- EMR: NAT (Nihon Admissions Technology)
- Additional Information:
- Typical procedures include CABG, valve repairs, TAVR standby, laser lead standby, thoracic robotic-assisted surgeries, and general emergent open-heart procedures.
- Dress code involves hospital scrubs.
- Rotating weekends and on-call duties are part of the schedule.
