Description

Job Summary:
Childrens Hospital Colorado at Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) with a specialization in Open Heart. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in a Level Three CICU setting, supporting pediatric patients with complex cardiac conditions. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting November 3, 2026, with rotating day and night shifts based on unit needs.

Job Details:

  • Shift Hours: 12-hour rotating days and nights (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM / 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
  • Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
  • Start Date: 11/03/2026
  • End Date: 02/06/2027
  • Travel Required: Yes
  • Float Required: Yes, within Childrens Hospital Colorado Anschutz Campus as needed
  • Schedule: Rotating
  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with 6+ years relevant experience; active Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) License or Multi-State Compact License; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Heartcode certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Heartcode certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; minimum 2-3 years of staff nurse experience in a dedicated pediatric cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVPICU) or pediatric CICU with open heart focus; previous travel experience required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCR) certification strongly preferred; Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) experience preferred; teaching hospital experience strongly preferred.
  • Additional Information: Candidates who will work one winter holiday (Christmas 2026 or New Year 2027) are preferred. No request for time off will be approved during the first two weeks of the assignment. Season influenza vaccination is required; medical and religious exemptions are accepted.
