Job Summary

Nurse Operating Room. The position provides routine and complex nursing care in an operating room setting while practicing independently and managing evolving clinical situations. Responsibilities include patient assessment, medication and treatment administration, documentation, patient and family education, and appropriate delegation of care.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); registered nurse license in Texas or a compact state.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree; one year of experience in the related nursing specialty.
• Additional Information: Provides nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Administers medications and treatments according to protocol, monitors treatment effectiveness and side effects, documents patient information and care provided, addresses patients and families psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs, and provides education regarding identified learning needs and available resources.
