Job Summary

Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) position providing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients following outpatient surgical procedures. The role supports anesthesia recovery, airway management, pain management, preoperative care, and extended care services. The professional may be assigned to other departments or facilities based on operational needs and qualifications.

Job Details

Required Qualifications: Five years of nursing experience, including three years of Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); active California Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications; travel nursing experience; teaching hospital experience; required electronic charting experience; knowledge of airway management, anesthesia recovery, and pain management; ability to work in preoperative and extended care units.
Preferred Qualifications: Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) or Certified Post Anesthesia Care Nurse (CPAN) certification; two years of critical care experience.
Schedule: Day shifts, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Additional Information: The role supports same-day surgical procedures, excluding orthopedic and cardiac procedures. Patient ratios are typically two patients per professional during day shifts. Standard hospital equipment, interpretation services, and pharmacy support are available. Forty hours of orientation are provided. Two references from the most recent employer are required at submission.
