Job Summary

Operating Room Nurse Operating Room. The role provides perioperative nursing care in a high-acuity surgical environment supporting trauma, robotic, cardiovascular, neurological, orthopedic, pediatric, transplant, and general surgical procedures. The position requires both circulating and operating room scrub capabilities, with day shifts and weekend coverage as needed.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: 24 months of current operating room experience; circulating operating room experience; experience with general, robotic, pediatric, and trauma cases; experience with Level II trauma; electronic medical record system experience within the previous 3 years; completion of a travel assignment within the previous 15 months; active Iowa or compact/multistate nursing license at submission; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross; ability to work required winter holiday coverage.
• Preferred Qualifications: Operating room scrub experience; Level I trauma experience; experience with neurological, orthopedic trauma, gynecologic, urologic, transplant, plastic, ear, nose and throat, and vascular procedures; hospital or medical center experience.
• Schedule: Day shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week; weekend coverage as needed, approximately every fourth weekend.
• Additional Information: The role supports a high-volume surgical department with approximately 3550 cases per day and a 1:1 patient ratio. Surgical services include cardiovascular and peripheral vascular, neurological, orthopedic trauma, robotic, gynecologic, urologic, general, pediatric, transplant, ear, nose and throat, and plastic procedures. Both circulating and scrub responsibilities are preferred. Turnover expectations are less than 20 minutes, and surgical robotics and specialized neuro-navigation equipment are utilized.
