Description

Job Summary:
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nurse position available in a high-acuity inpatient setting. The role involves the recovery and stabilization of patients following complex surgeries such as kidney transplants, craniotomies, transaortic valve replacements, and other delicate procedures. The PACU nurse will provide essential post-operative care for adult and geriatric patients, ensuring patient safety and recovery efficiency.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse (RN) license, BSN degree, American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS certifications, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, and at least 2 years of inpatient experience in a Level I Trauma Center.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience, specifically in Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU), or Neuro ICU backgrounds, as well as Trauma Level I and Level II experience.
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and CCRN (preferred), NIHSS (preferred).
  • Skills: End-Tidal Carbon Dioxide (ETCO2) monitoring, airway assessment, management of invasive lines and ports, post-op patient management including ventilated patients, specialized procedures such as craniotomy, kidney transplant, and spine surgery recovery, and comprehensive post-operative care protocols.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to float to other facilities within a 75+ mile radius; must have completed required modules related to unit/specialty prior to start; references from most recent employer needed at the time of submittal.
  • Start Date: 10/06/2026, with a planned end date of 01/05/2027.
  • Additional Information: Orientation hours are 36, with potential to start sooner for travelers cleared early, subject to approval.
