Description
Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical With Telemetry, Madison, WI. This position provides care to adult medical-surgical patients with acute and chronic conditions, including patients requiring telemetry monitoring. The role primarily follows day shifts with occasional night-shift needs based on operational requirements and includes weekend and holiday rotation.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA); two years of acute-care experience in the submitted specialty within the last three years; experience starting intravenous lines; electronic health record experience using Epic; telemetry experience; ability to care for adult medical-surgical patients; and ability to complete and pass a telemetry examination before starting.
- Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts, primarily days from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. as needed; every-other-weekend rotation and holidays as needed; 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Provides care for adult and geriatric patients with varied medical-surgical diagnoses, including complex acute illnesses and chronic conditions. The unit includes general-care beds and a secured section for Department of Corrections patients. Staff members are accompanied by correctional officers when assisting patients in the secured section. Travelers may be required to float as needed. A telemetry examination with strict passing criteria is required before the start of the assignment, with up to two attempts initially.
