Job Summary

Labor and Delivery Department nursing position providing direct care to expectant mothers and newborns before, during, and immediately after childbirth. The role includes monitoring maternal and fetal vital signs, managing pain including epidurals, assisting with vaginal and surgical deliveries, and educating families on postpartum recovery.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include implementing and monitoring patient care plans, documenting and communicating patient conditions, coordinating care across disciplines, carrying out physician and nursing orders, and supporting discharge planning. The position requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and the ability to work in a stressful environment. Duties include caring for expectant mothers and newborns, managing epidurals, assisting with deliveries, and providing postpartum education. Up to six weekend shifts and holidays may be required based on department needs.
